Teaching Spaces - At present our state of the art facility built through the Commonwealth BER program accommodates the teaching and learning needs of children in grades 3 to 6. It includes 6 classrooms, open spaced learning areas, offices, kitchen and toilet facilities. The junior classrooms are also well appointed and spacious with internal access to our refurbished toilet facilities in a well maintained brick core building and newer portable rooms. The school has an art room, library and a computer lab which can accommodate whole classes. All classrooms also have their own computer equipment for the students to use with a range of desktop and netbook computers and interactive screens installed. At present we are having a new core building constructed to replace the original and this will also involve a redevelopment of the gymnasium and extensive grounds work . Completion date is set down for 4th term 2017 for the teaching spaces and into early 2018 for the grounds and removal of the old buildings etc which will take place mostly during the end of year break.
Gymnasium - The gym allows for the Phys Ed program to take place regardless of weather . It also allows for whole school assemblies, activities, performances and community access. This facility is currently being refurbished and improved.
Playgrounds – Our students are fortunate to have a huge playing space. A large football oval, street soccer and netball complex are included in our school block boundary. The school itself is fully fenced and the grounds are being redeveloped over the coming 6 to 8 months as part of our referbishment . We will also have an outdoor performance area with seating and a stage. Children are encouraged to use the bike paths that run near us to get to school and we have a secure bike storage facility for them to use. We also have a class set of bikes to promote the safe use of bikes as transport through Bike Education and elective sports events.
We will also have a school vegetable garden program running complete with a “chook shed” up and running again after the building program is completed. The children are involved with a number of sustainability programs as we are also a Resource Smart School. These activities are currently in recess while the school building redevelopment program is running.
School Buses – We are fortunate to have 2 mini buses that we use to add to our students experiences through field trips, sporting activities out of school and mini excursions to various locations as well as our Hazelwood Estate annex.
